Brighten Your Summer At Bloomville — The New Pop-Up Experience By Sugar Republic

It’s been two years since Sugar Republic have cheered up our lives with sugar and spice, and now, they’re coming back and landing in Melbourne’s west this January. They’re taking over shipping containers in Woodlea in a fabulous and vibrant celebration of new beginnings and a new year. The best part? 100 per cent of all ticket sales will be donated to local charities. Here’s our first glimpse at the delightful Bloomville pop-up experience.

Bloomville is the first outdoor activation for the Sugar Republic team. Shipping containers will be transformed into colourful dreams, and there will be an outdoor play spaces to try out too.

Bloomville is a pop-up village inside a village – the community of Woodlea in Melbourne’s west.

“When Woodlea approached us to create a pop-up with them, I jumped at the chance,” said Allison Jones, Director and Creator of Sugar Republic. “My own childhood took place in a new suburb like Woodlea, and I was inspired by the sense of new beginnings and putting down roots for a brighter future.”

Of course, this installation is also inspired by hope as we emerge from the pandemic. This pop-up experience will bring joy to visitors, and raise funds for three local charities. Visitors will have the option of supporting Alex Makes Meals, the Lort Smith Animal Hospital or the Good Friday Appeal.

“It’s been a difficult past few years with most of our events at Woodlea being cancelled or postponed,” said Woodlea Project Director Matthew Dean. “These are events that not only Woodlea residents, but Melbourne’s west looks forward to each year, so being able to bring Sugar Republic to Woodlea is a really exciting milestone; to give back to charities in the process is just the cherry on top,” he added.

What can you expect at Bloomville?

Start your journey by spinning the Weather Wheel, and enter a Sunshiny or Rainy Room. Then, explore colourful, neon-lit spaces, a rainbow playground, a flower power bedroom and more. There will be heaps of giant backdrops, including a giant daisy wall and a neon flower crown, that will be perfect for Instagram. Meanwhile, local Melbourne artist Kate Pullen has also added a touch of happiness with a super bright mural.
