Sung Kang, the actor best known to millions of fans as Han in the Fast & Furious franchise, will head to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on 21st and 22nd November, 2026, for Compello.
Kang will be in Melbourne to celebrate the Australian launch of his new film, Drifter, while Compello transforms the convention centre into an elite showcase of modified car culture, featuring 60 hand-selected builds from across Australia.
Tickets drop 1st October, with early-access lists getting first crack at tickets, VIP package announcements and special guest updates.
Sung Kang is bringing Drifter to Melbourne

Kang arrives in Australia at an interesting moment in his career. After years of playing Han—one of the most recognisable characters in the Fast & Furious universe—he has stepped behind the camera for Drifter, his feature directorial debut.
The film follows a solitary racetrack janitor with a natural gift for drifting who gets a chance to compete professionally, forcing him to confront the isolation that has shaped his life. Kang directed, co-wrote, produced and stars in the film.
Drifter recently made its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival, where Kang introduced audiences to a project that brings together his two long-running passions: filmmaking and car culture.
Kang brings his own connection to car culture to Compello through Drifter, a film that dives into drifting and the communities that keep the scene moving.
60 wild builds under one roof

Organisers are looking for 60 standout modified cars, with the selection spanning classic Japanese machinery, modern European performance, clean street builds, and Aussie and American cars.
Owners can apply to have their cars considered for the showcase, with spots strictly capped to keep the standard of the display high. Also, selected exhibitors who make the cut will have access to an exclusive VIP experience with Kang.
Kang is set to judge the showcased builds for a Best In Show trophy, giving Australian car enthusiasts the slightly surreal prospect of having a Fast & Furious star personally inspect their pride and joy.
The wider event will also feature public voting across the weekend, with the official event listing advertising a Best Car in Show competition and $5,000 prize money.
The internet has been very into Han lately

Kang’s Melbourne appearance comes after a particularly strange year for Han online, with AI-generated edits of the famous Tokyo Drift scene circulating across social media and creators digitally swapping cars—and, in some cases, Han himself—for increasingly surreal alternatives.
Now, instead of seeing AI-generated versions of the Fast & Furious favourite, Melbourne fans will get the real Sung Kang in the flesh.
Compello’s limited first ticket release drops on 1st October, with the early-access list getting first access to general admission tickets, VIP packages featuring Sung Kang experiences, exclusive merchandise drops and special guest updates before the general public. The organisers will announce meet-and-greet experiences to the waitlist first.
Moreover, the event takes over Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on 21st and 22nd November 2026, bringing Kang, his directorial debut Drifter and 60 of Australia’s standout modified cars together under one roof.
So, for a generation raised on Tokyo Drift, seeing Han himself roll into Melbourne for a weekend of car culture feels almost too perfectly scripted.
