Sunset Sounds returns to Stonnington on Sunday, 18 January with a stellar lineup of performers. This year’s free concerts feature ARIA Award-winning duo Electric Fields as headliners, alongside Punjabi Australian singer, dancer and musician Parvyn. Music lovers can listen to great music and soak up the sun at the lush Malvern Public Gardens, located on the corner of High Street and Park Street in Malvern.
Sunset Sounds: Event details
It’s all about fusion at Sunset Sounds this year. Electric Fields combine modern electric-soul music with Aboriginal culture, singing in Pitjantjatjara, Yankunytjatjara and English. From the success of their Live in Concert album with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to representing Australia in 2024’s Eurovision Song Contest, the duo is clearly beloved by many.
Coming off of earning an AIR Award for Best Independent Jazz Album 2025 for Maujuda, Parvyn, on the other hand, brings a unique blend of raga and jazzy melodies, topped with ethereal vocals that can’t be beat. What’s more, PBS radio champion DJ Lyndelle Wilkinson is joining as MC for another year, bringing her killer beats to an already unforgettable experience.
