Feast on indulgent lasagne, ravioli and cannoli and support the homeless along the way.
The Old Garage café in Camberwell will be transformed into a night inspired by Little Italy in New York. In their Papa Mambo Italiano pop-up, coffee and sandwiches will be swapped out for some awesome Italian takeaway. While you’re there, pay it forward and donate a $20 meal to Christmas On The Streets, which will feed one homeless person. This pop-up event will take place on Friday Saturday 24.
The Old Garage pop-up event
If you’re within 10km of the café, check out The Old Garage and join them for their Italian pop-up event.
Fill up your stomachs with a traditional lasagne, just the way nonna makes it! Or, opt for a deep-fried crispy ravioli with a creamy cheese filling. Pair the ravioli with either a house-made Napoli sauce or basil pesto. Fill up on carbs and grab a homemade focaccia with confit garlic and cherry tomatoes.
Of course, you’ve got to have dessert too. The Old Garage has enlisted the help of Cannoli Bar, so you can finish the night with something sweet. Try either their chocolate or vanilla Sicilian cannoli.
Then, wash it all down with takeaway cocktails or San Pellegrino.
Everything on the menu can be made vegan, so if you’re a plant-based eater, you can get in on the action.
Pre-order a meal by giving them a DM on Instagram, or calling them on 9889 2327 to avoid disappointment.
Christmas On The Streets
While you’re there, show your support and donate $20. This will go towards Christmas On The Streets (COTS), a non-for-profit organisation that supports people experiencing homelessness. Each donation will be used by COTS to feed one homeless person in Melbourne.
In the past, The Old Garage has supplied meals to be distributed to the homeless by COTS. Now, they are calling on the local community to do the same through their pop-up event.
