When you’re travelling and booking a hotel, you might focus on things like the convenience of the location, the comfort of the room, and of course, the price. But, what about the food? According to OpenTable and KAYAK, hotel restaurants around Australia are rising in popularity, and becoming a destination for both travellers and locals. Based on their consumer research, 72% of Australians would rebook a hotel for the dining experience alone. KAYAK has also seen a 64 per cent increase in the use of the ‘restaurant’ hotel filter compared to the previous year. After noting this rise in interest, OpenTable and KAYAK have put together a list of the Top 25 Hotel Restaurants in Australia. Victoria claimed the most venues on the list with ten spots, followed closely by Queensland with eight.

25 Top Hotel Restaurants in Australia for 2025
The list was determined by over 190,000 reviews from verified diners on OpenTable. Factors like diner ratings and percentage of five star reviews were used to work out the top spots. Restaurants weren’t ranked in any particular order, instead, they were listed under their home state.
“Hotel restaurants aren’t just for guests anymore – they’ve become must-visit dining destinations for everyone,” said Drew Bowering, OpenTable’s Senior Director for ANZ. “Our data shows 63% of all dining at hotel restaurants in the last year came from locals! They’re coming for the food, the service, and the elevated atmosphere, and travellers are now actively seeking out hotels with incredible dining destinations.”
