The Melbourne-based pop sensation will work alongside Tony Ellwood AM, NGV Director, and Edwina McCann, Editorial Director of Conde Nast titles Australia and News Prestige.
“Melbourne is my home, and I am always drawn back to the visionary creative community here,” said Sivan. “Having performed at the Gala in 2018, I know that this event showcases Melbourne as a dynamic and creative city that champions art, fashion and music.”
The first NGV Gala took place in 2017, and since then, it has welcomed plenty of notable names like Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen and Julia Fox. It has also hosted live sets from Troye Sivan, Baker Boy, G Flip, Sneaky Sound System and Salt-N-Pepa.

Gala guests will be the first to explore the Westwood | Kawakubo exhibition. Marvel at over 140 designs across five decades. These self-taught designers transformed the world of fashion and subverted the status quo, challenging taste, gender and beauty, as well as the function and form of clothing. Alongside the garments, you’ll also see archival materials, photography, film and runway footage.
Tickets to the Gala are $495 per person, and subscribers will be available to purchase them from Wednesday September 24. Learn more about it here.
