It’s hard to believe, but New Moon was published just 20 years ago! And to celebrate, Readings has teamed up with Cinema Nova and Lido Cinemas to do a special anniversary screening. Kick things off with Twilight, where the angsty stares and thrilling vampire baseball games will take you right back to hoa hoa hoa season. Then, follow it up with a screening of New Moon, where the werewolves come out to play. This double feature will take place on Tuesday, September 29.
Twilight and New Moon screening with Readings at Cinema Nova and Lido Cinemas
Independent bookshop Readings will be giving away a gorgeous 20th anniversary deluxe collectors’ edition of New Moon to mark the milestone. This vintage-inspired book includes a foil-stamped slipcase and cover with romantic artwork, along with illustrated endpapers, a ribbon marker and a gold gilded edge design. Dive into the pages, and experience Bella’s heartbreak with Edward all over again, while things with Jacob get a bit shifty.
As for the double feature, see Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner bring the first two tales of the Twilight saga to life. Watch the films surrounded by fellow fans, and have a laugh together at your favourite bits, like “Bella! Where the hell have you been loca?” There will be a ten minute break between the films.
