When it comes to a Christmas lunch menu in Aussie households, you can’t go past the beloved Cob Loaf: a crusty bundle of bread with the centre cut out and filled with creamy dipping sauce. So it seems though, the Cob Loaf can be re-created in many ways. Italian restaurant Vapiano has gone and resurrected their seriously delicious Carbonara cob loaf, as well as introduced two new cob varieties. Honestly, it’s the pasta and bread combo we didn’t know we needed.
This time around, the cob loaves come in three different flavours: the OG cheesy Carbonara doused in parmesan cheese, Bolognese with beef and pork, as well as the Pomodoro cob, which is another tomato-based number that can be enjoyed by vegans by opting for plant-based cheese.
The Carbonara and Bolognese cobs will set you back just $29, and $24 for the Pomodoro. It’s the perfect dish to share with someone who loves cob loaf just as much as you do. You’ll want to nab one soon though – these bad boys are only available until the end of October.
While Vapiano’s pasta is a must-try, they also serve up other Italian favourites such as pizzas, salads, and antipasti. They also do $5 pink gin cocktails from 5pm on Wednesdays, so hey, Hump Day vibes all around.
Vapiano has restaurants in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Gold Coast, and Toowoomba.
