Icons from around Australia’s music scene are urging you to roll up your sleeves and get a jab.
When was the last time you went to a live event? The last time you felt the bass thump in your chest or the last time your ears were deafened by the roar of an excited crowd? The live entertainment industry was crippled under the pandemic, and an estimated 80,000 working Australians have lost their jobs as a result. Now, musicians from around Australia are urging you to get a jab in their Vax The Nation campaign, so that the show can go on.
Vax The Nation
Vax The Nation is a campaign run by over 400 performers, record labels, venues, tour promoters and more. In the campaign, you’ll find familiar names like Tim Minchin, Celeste Barber, Guy Sebastian, Jimmy Barnes, Kate Miller-Heidke and Vance Joy. You’ll also recognise groups like Birds of Tokyo or Short Stack.

Their mission is to get as many people in Australia vaccinated as possible, so that we can return to the live events that we all know and love.
The Vax The Nation campaign is spearheaded by the newly formed Live Industry Venues + Entertainment Alliance, or LIVE Alliance. It includes representatives from organisations like Live Nation, Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and Frontier Touring.
“The impact of the pandemic on Australia’s world-leading music, theatre, comedy and live entertainment industries has been truly devastating,” said LIVE Alliance in a statement. “Getting vaccinated is the crucial step fans can take which will allow us to join together and enjoy the unbeatable magic of live performance once again.”
