A historic Kensington woolstore will double as one of Melbourne’s most diverse indoor markets this weekend, with more than 60 independent makers confirmed for a one-day takeover.
On Saturday, 20th June, the team behind the Rose Street Artists’ Market will transform the Younghusband precinct into a sprawling, weatherproof marketplace, pairing heritage architecture with a dense lineup of local designers, food producers and artists.
A stacked lineup of Melbourne makers

Beyond the location, it’s the breadth of stalls that sets this market apart. The June edition brings together a cross-section of Melbourne’s small creative businesses, spanning everything from ceramics and slow fashion to pantry goods and specialty drinks.
In accessories and art, names like Judith Scott, Kewei Cai, Nicole Wu Illustrations and Julia Klapakis will headline, alongside studios such as Sentient Design and kazpaz.art. Jewellery is particularly well represented, with labels including Ami Pathak, Graw, PERLU, WOO STUDIO and Eden and Sloane among the mix.
Ceramics remain a crowd-puller, with Potteri Studio, AR Ceramics, Finch Ceramics and acclaimed Victorian ceramicist Sandra Bowkett all on the lineup—offering everything from functional pieces to collectible works.
Fashion and textiles will also feature prominently, with DAWN BLACK, Atelier Q’3 and Kylie Golsby-Smith bringing independent clothing collections, while crochet and fibre art from makers like Yarnful Living and Yuan Lin add to the tactile, handmade focus.
Food, drinks & winter comforts

The food offering leans heavily into Melbourne’s artisan scene, with a mix of sweet, savoury and small-batch producers. Visitors can indulge in pastries and baked goods from BY SIL Patisserie, Peachy Keen Bakes and Maro Croissants, alongside pantry staples and niche products like Philby’s Hot Sauce and Stuff Butter.
Drinks are equally considered, with Antipodes Gin Company and Mua Cha Tea (matcha specialists) adding a warm-up factor for winter browsing. Hot food vendors, including Chemis Momo and Via Gianlu, will anchor the space, while Coffee Deluxe keeps the caffeine flowing throughout the stroll.
Featured artists and returning favourites

Alongside the core stallholders, a curated selection of featured Rose Street Market artists will also be part of the lineup. This includes names like Aromatherapy Dispensary, Alili’s Handprinted Eco Creations and Night Forest Studio, as well as jewellery designers such as ARKH and Round the Bend.
Several well-known jewellery brands from the Rose Street circuit, such as Mediya Jewellery, Lithos Melbourne and Jane Finch Jewellery, add further depth, reinforcing the market’s reputation as a launchpad for independent designers.
About the market setting

Set partially inside the 120-year-old Younghusband woolstore, the event taps into Melbourne’s growing appetite for adaptive reuse spaces. The building’s exposed beams, brickwork and vast warehouse scale offer a striking contrast to the finely crafted goods on display by turning a standard market browse into a more immersive, architectural experience.
With full indoor coverage (and umbrellas outside in case of rain!), a dense vendor lineup and a strong food offering, the event is an easy winter weekend option—whether you’re shopping for one-off pieces or simply looking for a low-effort day out in a unique setting.
