Dress Up For Halloween And Find Sustainable Goods At This Zero Waste Warehouse Market In Sunshine

Trick or treat?

Does an unsustainable future keep you up at night? Do you see visions of overflowing landfills in your sleep? Perhaps it’s time to move on to a more sustainable lifestyle. Pop over to Mount Zero Olives’ Zero Waste Market on October 30 and discover a range of package-free produce. Bonus points if you arrive in costume.

Zero Waste Warehouse Market

At this Zero Waste Warehouse Market, you’re invited to peruse a range of bulk and package-free products. You’re encouraged to bring your own tubs, containers, bags, recycled glass bottles and other objects that can be used to reuse and refill.

You’ll find a range of Mount Zero products, including olives, grains, pulses, olive oils, goat cheese and salts. You’ll also get a sneak peek at some of their Christmas gift hampers this year, which will be the perfect choice for that foodie in your life.

There will also be products from other stores, such as:

  • Market Lane – buy a coffee on the day (in your classic Melbourne Keep Cup) or purchase their signature coffee beans sold by weight
  • Koji & Co – miso and shio koji
  • Precycle Pantry  – pantry and household items in bulk
  • Girls on Bread – fresh sourdough loaves
  • Little Wing – condiments and cheesy lasagne toasties

It’s estimated that one thousand glass olive oil bottles are saved with each market. It’s also diverted packaging from more than 300 kg of olives and grains.

“It’s been another tough year for our community, so we wanted to make sure we had a bit of fun with our last market of the year,” said Mount Zero General Manager Rich Seymour. “We love to see people’s creativity when we ask them to bring their own containers to our markets – so we look forward to seeing how this extends to their interpretation of sustainable Halloween costumes!”

Shoppers are encouraged to dress up for Halloween, with sustainable, recycled or repurposed materials wherever possible. If you arrive in costume, you’ll receive a ten per cent discount.

This market will run from 9am to 2pm on Saturday October 30. Find it at the Mount Zero Warehouse on 6 Law Ct, Sunshine West VIC 3020.
