Summer is here, and it’s a scorcher! And if you’re a resident in the City of Melbourne, you can beat the heat with a $2 swim. Dive into the outdoor pools at either Carlton Baths or North Melbourne Pool. The $2 swims are available on weekdays this summer, excluding public holidays.
$2 swims on weekdays
This program launched last summer as a trial, and received a huge response. Over 9400 residents made the most of this offer, and almost a quarter of those visiting were first-timers. If you live in Melbourne CBD, Carlton, Parkville, East Melbourne, West Melbourne, North Melbourne, Kensington, Docklands, South Yarra or Southbank, you can make a splash without breaking the bank.

If a pool reaches capacity, the space will move to a ‘one in, one out’ policy to keep things safe and comfortable. So, if you arrive on a hot day and it’s quite crowded, just be patient as you might have to wait a bit before you enter.
If you’re a bit nervous around water, free swimming lessons are also available to 600 City of Melbourne residents. These lessons will take place at Melbourne City Baths and Kensington Community Aquatic and Recreation Centre. Learn more about the program here.
