You’ll find the largest swimming pool in the CBD at Melbourne City Baths. This historic site first opened in 1860, and offered a cleaner alternative to bathing in the Yarra River. Fitzroy Swimming Pool first opened in 1908, and is a popular place to be on a hot summer’s day. Go for laps along this 50-metre outdoor heated pool. There’s plenty of swimming options at the new Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre. Inside, you’ll find an indoor heated pool with eight 25-metre lanes, as well as a learn-to-swim pool, a warm water pool with integrated spa, an aquatic play area with water slides, and steam/sauna facilities. 13. St Kilda Sea Baths
Looking for something a little different? Go swimming in seawater at St Kilda Sea Baths. The water in the 25-metre seawater pool is heated to a soothing temperature, and is great for restoring energy and relieving muscle soreness. 20. Urbnsurf
