7-Eleven Fair Ground
This carnival will feature free rides, prizes, coffee and more. This interactive event will be full of 7-Eleven snacks, prizes and complimentary freshly ground coffee. Learn all about their new sustainable coffee and the impact of Fairtrade.
“It’s important now more than ever to know where your coffee comes from, and to know it’s traded on fair terms with fair working conditions,” said Julie Laycock, 7-Eleven GM of Customer & Insights. “The 80 million cups of coffee that 7-Eleven serve each year will now be 100% Fairtrade certified. This means a more sustainable future for coffee farmers, their communities and our customers.”
To help keep things sustainable, from this week onwards, 7-Eleven will use new coffee packaging made with plants. The cups are made from paper, and the waterproof lining inside is derived from plant starches. Meanwhile, the lids are made from bamboo and sugarcane pulp and straws are made from paper. Customers who bring in their own reusable coffee cup also receive a 50 cent discount.
Meanwhile, the 7-Eleven Fair Ground will set up on Lonsdale Street, opposite QV. It will open from 12pm to 8pm on Friday October 14 and Saturday October 15. Entry is free, and no bookings are necessary. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
