We’re already dreaming of the summer holidays, and Funfields Themepark has given us one more thing to look forward to. Along with the familiar attractions and spaces that you know and love, there will be a brand-new ride for you to experience. Get ready to try Kraken Unleashed, Australia’s longest mat-racing waterslide. Stretching 235 metres long and over 22 metres tall, this thrilling ride has taken the popular Kraken Racer to the next level, adding an extra 75 metres of twists and turns. While there’s no opening date for the new ride yet, it’s currently set to launch sometime this summer. Meanwhile, Funfields Themepark will reopen on Saturday, October 31.

Kraken Unleashed
The old Kraken Racer slide was already 160 metres long. Now, it’s been upgraded into a high-speed racing experience, with new upper section, filled with dark sections, clear sections, special effects and plenty of twists and turns. The waterslide can fit four racers, going head-to-head all the way to the finish line.

Funfields Themepark
With the park opening this week, you can head on over and enjoy plenty of other heart-racing rides, such as the 250-metre-long Supanova waterslide or the Gravity Wave raft ride. If you’d rather take it easy, float along the Lava Lagoon Lazy River, or swim in the Volcano Beach Wave Pool. There’s also plenty of rides outside of the water, such as bumper cars, a carousel, a pirate ship swing, and a 700-metre-long alpine toboggan slide.
Pack a picnic or enjoy a BBQ while you’re there, or treat yourself to some classic theme park food, like ice cream, burgers and chips.
You’ll find Funfields in Whittlesea, about an hour’s drive away from Melbourne CBD. Plan your visit here.
