After appearing as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia this year, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex is coming to Melbourne as a special guest on Junior MasterChef Australia. The show will return after a six-year hiatus, with Poh Ling Yeow as the host. While dates haven’t been confirmed yet, filming is set to take place at Melbourne Showgrounds, with the show airing some time in 2027.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex on Junior MasterChef Australia
When Meghan appeared on MasterChef earlier this year, the ratings skyrocketed, and attracted the program’s largest Sunday audience since 2013. So, it’s no surprise that she’s been asked to return.
“I had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef this past April, so when they approached me to come back and work with this young group of talent, it was an easy yes,” said the Duchess. “I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun.”

Beyond her time on MasterChef, she also created her Emmy-nominated lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, and appeared as a guest judge on Food Network’s Chopped Junior in 2016.
“I had a lovely time filming with Meghan earlier this year, and being reunited will be a real treat,” said Poh, who will be judging both the junior and classic version of MasterChef Australia next year. “I can’t wait to meet our pint-sized adventurers – I’m expecting plenty of delicious surprises and a little mischief, too.”
Junior MasterChef Australia will air on Channel 10 in 2027.
