Created with the guidance of Egyptologists, the exhibition recreates Tutankhamun’s treasures with a remarkable level of detail. See a replica of the 11-kilogram Golden Mask, explore the solid-gold inner sarcophagus and admire the famous golden throne, which features the king’s two consecutive names, Tutankhaton and Tutankhamun. You can also wander through a life-size reconstruction of the pharaoh’s Treasury, giving you a sense of the extraordinary collection of objects buried alongside him. Then, step into the 360° projection space, where enormous images, sound and storytelling surround you and transport you further into the story of Ancient Egypt. For an even deeper dive, add the optional 12-minute VR experience, which takes you through temples, tombs and the afterlife from the perspective of a pharaoh.

The experience goes beyond simply looking at replicas behind glass, instead piecing together the story of a young ruler, his journey into the afterlife and the discovery that turned his name into an archaeological legend. You’ll see how Tutankhamun was transformed from a mortal king into an eternal sun god, while getting a closer look at the objects that helped make his tomb so significant. Treasures of Tutankhamun is a fitting day out for families, history lovers and anyone curious about Ancient Egypt. If you’ve ever wondered what lay inside that extraordinary tomb, or simply want to see one of Ancient Egypt’s most famous collections brought together in one place, this is your chance to follow in Howard Carter’s footsteps!
