
We’re lucky enough to have all sorts of incredible wildlife around Melbourne and Victoria, including plenty of adorable alpacas. With their fluffy fleece, big eyes and large ears, it’s hard not to fall in love with these sweet animals. Where to see alpacas in Melbourne and Victoria
Edendale Community Environment Farm
Visit Edendale Farm in Eltham and say hi to the adorable alpacas. You’ll also find other farm animals, like sheep, goats, ponies and chickens. While you can’t feed the alpacas, you’ll still have a great time admiring them. When you’re not hanging out with the animals, explore the seven-acre farm and check out the cafe, the gardens and artwork scattered around the site. Entry is free! More info here.

Myuna Farm
Head to Melbourne’s southeast and spend a day with the animals at Myuna Farm. Hand feed alpacas, as well as sheep, cows, kangaroos, goats, deer, camel and emus, along the paddock feed trail. Then, stick around for some other experiences, like patting baby animals in the nursery or going on tractor rides. There’s also pony rides and a playground for the kids to enjoy. Shepherds Hill Stays
Head to the Macedon Ranges and stay on a 110-acre alpaca farm at Shepherds Hill Stays. Stay in the Cottage, which has an alpaca nursery paddock right next door, so you can see plenty of adorable baby alpacas being born between November and May. If you’re travelling along the Great Ocean Road, take a break and stay at Seafarers Getaway. Bellevue Farmstay
Just 20 minutes away from the Great Ocean Road, you’ll find the 350-acre working farm, Bellevue Farmstay. Stay overnight and meet all of the adorable animals, including cows, sheep, mini goats and yes, alpacas. Give the alpacas a cuddle and handfeed them and the other animals. If you’re not staying overnight, book in advance and take part in a mini feeding session, where you can feed and play with the alpacas, goats and resident camel.
