Inspired by the rumours of Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov’s escape in the early days of the Russian Revolution, as well as the beloved animated film from 20th Century Fox, this Broadway sensation will make its Australian premiere at the Regent Theatre. This lavish musical premiered on Broadway in 2017. It played to sold-out audiences for three years, and has wowed crowds in Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, Brazil, Mexico and Japan. After it plays in Melbourne this December, it will go on to Perth and Sydney in 2026.
“The legend of Anastasia has intrigued the world for many years,” said producer John Frost AM. “It’s a story full of mystery and romance with a magnificent score that I know Australia is going to fall in love with.”
