We’ve had plenty of delicious Asian street food festivals in Melbourne. From the Hawker 88 Night Market a few months ago, to the Downtown Dumpling Market last year, there’s been lots of sizzling dishes to sink our teeth into. And soon, a new street festival is coming to town, and it promises to be just as delicious. Wander over to Alexandra Gardens, and taste your way through nearly 200 different dishes at the Asia Oasis Street Food Festival by the Yarra. Check it out from Thursday October 24 to Sunday October 27.
Asia Oasis Street Food Festival by the Yarra
After running some incredible events in Adelaide, this festival for foodies is coming to Melbourne. Nestled within Alexandra Gardens, you’ll find a nostalgic village. Walk underneath the glow of Hoi An lanterns, and see some Balinese huts serving up flavoursome dishes. Expect over 30 Asian street food vendors, representing a range of cuisines from Vietnam, Thailand, China, the Philippines, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Tibet and more.
Dishes you can look forward to include dumplings, Hainanese chicken rice, Mongolian crispy beef, Pad Thai, chicken rendang, mochi waffle, Korean cheese coin, pho, halo halo, mango sticky rice, butter chicken and more.
On top of the food, you can also look forward to plenty of entertainment, performances and activities like traditional folk games.
This event is cashless, and only accepts cards or food vouchers. If you’ve got cash, you can head over to the Info Desk and purchase a food voucher to use instead.
Entry is free, but you’re welcome to register online for the chance to win some door prizes. The festival will be open each day from 11am to 11pm.
