The Continental Sorrento will soon have another luxurious feature in the 20, 000 square metre precinct. On top of the lush accommodation and multiple dining areas, this seaside destination will boast a new and relaxing spa. Aurora Spa & Bathhouse will include ancient bathing traditions with a modern twist, as well as meaningful rituals, evidence-based remedies and hot and cold contrast therapy. This wellness experience will open in late October.
Aurora Spa & Bathhouse
Relaxation is just a drive away, as this retreat is an hour from Melbourne. Situated by the sea, you’ll feel transported to another world of luxury and healing.
The 1000 square metre bathhouse fits up to 60 guests at a time. Your journey begins in a serene relaxation lounge that will guide you to four interconnecting hydro-therapy pools. From there, you’ll find five additional spaces that will add contrasting experiences, including a timber-lined Nordic sauna, one of the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. There’s also an aromatherapy steam room, a halotherapy (salt) suite, sensory showers and a unique “glacial mist room”.
If you’re after a more personal experience, there’s also a magnesium float room, and eight treatment rooms that can accommodate both singles and couples. After a day of relaxation, head to The Aurora Spa Store and create bespoke salt blends in the apothecary station.
This bathhouse will be the flagship location of Australia’s award-winning Aurora Spa Group. Founded by wellness expert Lyndall Mitchell, and designed by Woods Bagot, Aurora Spa & Bathhouse will be an idyllic sanctuary in the heart of Sorrento. The design draws inspiration from the Mornington coastline, and celebrates the water and natural properties of the region.
This bathhouse will open in October.
