South Australia’s Barossa Valley is renowned for its wine producers. But jetting off to another state is sometimes off the cards, even for wine enthusiasts. Not to worry, though, because the Barossa is making its way to us this June for a massive one-day celebration of the iconic region. After sell-out events in in 2017, 2018 and 2019, Barossa. Be Consumed is finally returning to Melbourne this year.
Taking over the The Timber Yard in Port Melbourne on Saturday June 10, this festival is set to showcase the Barossa’s best winemakers and artisan distillers.
You can expect to taste from world-renowned wine producers such as Henschke, Seppeltsfield and Torbreck as well as artisan makers like Purple Hands, Brothers at War, and Lienert Vineyards.
Barossa. Be Consumed goes to show that, while the region is best-known for its wine, it’s also brimming with fantastic food and gin producers, which will be showcased for us to discover.
Each ticket includes wine tastings of more than 220 wines of your choosing as well as gin sampling and a take-home wine glass.
If you find a particular wine or gin you love on the day, there will be plenty of bottles for purchase.
“Barossa is Australia’s leading wine destination,” says Amanda Longworth from Barossa Australia. “In one epic day, we bring our fabulous people, their wines and gins to share an unforgettable tourism and wine experience with over 900 people.”
