Say cheese! Australia’s largest cheese festival is coming back over the winter months, taking over Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, as well as Hobart for the very first time. This year, Mould: A Cheese Festival, is promising a delightfully mature and smelly line-up, with over 27 cheese producers to discover. Explore textured and earthy flavours, raw milk varieties and more types of delicious homegrown cheese. There will also be a selection of cheeses, called the Grate Cheese Commission, that will be exclusive to this festival. Mould will take over The Timber Yard in Port Melbourne from July 22 to 24.
Mould: A Cheese Festival
This un-brie-lievable cheese festival has delighted Australians since 2017. Presented by Revel, the team behind Pinot Palooza, this festival delivered one million samples of cheese across the three cities last year.
Although the full cheese line-up hasn’t been announced yet, you can expect cheese from the best artisan producers around the country. Pair your cheese with olives, butter and smallgoods, and indulge in cheese-focused dishes from local cheesemongers and chefs.
There will also be plenty to drink from the Mould bar, including Hartshorn Sheep Whey vodka and gin, wine, beer, cider, cocktails and sake.
If you’d like to go deeper, there will also be a series of Cheese Chats, to help you learn more.
