Can’t resist a good view? If you love feeling on top of the world, watching the sunrise or gazing at the stars, then we’ve got the perfect spot for you. The next time you’re in the Grampians, about 3.5 hours away from Melbourne, take a moment to pause and enjoy the sweeping landscapes from Boroka Lookout. This scenic spot has two lookout platforms, offering unforgettable views of Halls Gap, Lake Bellfield and western Victoria. At sunrise and sunset, you’ll see the valley bathed in a warm glow. And at night, you’ll take in uninterrupted views of the stars above. The best part? It’s just a five minute walk away from the car park, so you don’t have to worry about an intense hike.

Boroka Lookout
This picturesque location is about a 20 minute drive away from Halls Gap. You’ll find the car park on Mt Difficult Road, but the walk is not difficult at all! Park your car, and stroll about 90 metres through stringybark forest to reach the lookout. The track is sealed with a slight gradient, and is suitable for young children and people with limited mobility.
From the lookout platforms, you’ll see 180-degree views of the Halls Gap valley, as well as the Wonderland and Mt William mountain ranges.

If you’re an early bird, look out to the east and catch the sunrise. You’ll feel like anything is possible as you watch the landscape light up in hues of gold and crimson.
If you’re a late riser, that’s ok! This viewpoint is majestic in all seasons and conditions, from clear bright days to moody, foggy moments. At sunset, you can still enjoy the vibrant colours of the shifting skies.

Night owls will especially love looking up up the glittering constellations from Boroka Lookout. Grampians National Park is already a great place to go stargazing, as it’s far away from light pollution. And, thanks to the high vantage point of the viewing platform, you’ll feel just that little bit closer to the cosmos. Winter is a particularly good time of year to try it out, thanks to the longer nights. In cool conditions, the skies seem especially clear, so you can watch the Milky Way swirl above. It gets cold at night, so remember to rug up.
There are picnic tables and toilets available, if you’d like to linger around the area.
