Spring is almost here, and if you love frolicking amongst the blooms, there’s a dreamy cherry blossom festival happening in the Yarra Valley. Explore the stunning rows of blossoming cherry trees at CherryHill Orchards with your loved ones, and bring your dog along too! This year, there’s a new Blossom & Graze experience for you to try across two weekends in September. If you’re more of a night owl, there will also be an enchanting evening light experience. These delightful cherry blossom events will take place at CherryHill Orchards on select days from September 6 to October 8.
CherryHill Orchards Cherry Blossom Events
Bloom & Graze
When: September 6, 7, 13 and 14
Where: 739 Maroondah Hwy, Coldstream VIC 3770
Welcome the start of cherry blossom season at the inaugural Bloom & Graze. Visit the 100-acre orchard in Coldstream, and discover a market filled with local makers and creators, as well as demonstrations and workshops. As you browse through the market, you’ll hear live acoustic music, and take in views of the orchard as it begins to bloom.
Vendors you can look forward to include The Botanical Brothers, Four Pillars, Steels Gate, Sustainable Food Waste, Yarra Valley Dairy and Blossom Lifestyle Candle Making.
While you’re there, treat yourself to cherry ice cream and cherry-inspired beverages. You’ll also find tasty bites from food trucks and local vendors. Pop into the cherry-inspired farmgate store for more goodies. Dogs are welcome to come along!
Blossom by Light
When: September 19 to 22
Where: 474-480 Queens Rd, Wandin East VIC 3139
If you’d prefer to see things in a different light, visit the Wandin orchard for their stunning evening event. In Blossom by Light, you’ll see rows of cherry trees glimmering with beautiful light installations. After admiring the lights, roast marshmallows by the fire pit and enjoy live entertainment. There will be food trucks on-site, and wine from Balgownie, Giant Steps and Riverstone Estate. Unlike the other events, dogs are not welcome to come along.
Blossom Festival
When: September 24 to October 5
Where: 474-480 Queens Rd, Wandin East VIC 3139
For a classic and fun day out, head to the Wandin orchard for their picturesque Blossom Festival. This seasonal event is particularly precious because the trees are only in full bloom for just a few weeks each year. Feel like you’re in Japan as you walk through the rows and admire the sweet blossoms. If you’d like, you can book yourself in for a professional photo shoot.
Stay refreshed with some cherry drinks and cherry ice cream. There will be food trucks if you’re feeling hungry, and you’re welcome to pre-order a grazing box. Otherwise, you can bring your own picnic, and relax on the lawn while taking in lovely views of the cherry blossoms.
On the weekends, there will also be live music, entertainment and stallholders to check out.
