Over the years the traditional hot cross bun has transformed into a variety of different flavours. From sweet to savoury — there’s something to suit everyone’s palette. But now, thanks to Coles, a brand new flavour is in town and it might be the spiciest of them all. Coles’ fancy new hot cross bun comes in a jalapeño and cheese flavour, costing just $3.50 for a four-pack across Australia. We’re personally not cross about it, you?
Coles jalapeño and cheese hot cross buns
The new range of hot cross buns is inspired by the Coles Bakery’s Laurent Mini Pane Di Casa Jalapeño Loaf, which has been quite the rage among customers. The jalapeño and cheese flavour is the latest to join Coles’ range of hot cross buns, following the uber popular vegemite flavour.
Featuring a peppered bun, diced jalapeños, parmesan, cheddar and topped off with another layer of delicious cheese on top, you can find this unique new flavour at your local Coles now.
“We will always have our traditional fruit and chocolate varieties, but it’s important to differentiate and offer those who prefer savoury options a new and exciting hot cross bun too,” Coles general manager of bakery, deli and seafood, Andy Mossop, said.
Guess it’s time to visit our local Coles and get our hands on these asap.
