The Melbourne Food & Wine Festival is just around the corner, and there’s hundreds of events for you to choose from. One of them is Dan’s Diner, a full-service retro bar and restaurant that will take over Fed Square. Inspired by nostalgic diners, this collaboration between Dan Murphy’s and the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival will feature comforting dishes cooked by an all-star line-up of chefs named Dan. Check it out from March 15 to 24.
Dan’s Diner
Feast on hearty diner classics that showcase the best of seasonal Victorian produce. In the kitchen, you’ll find plenty of Dans, including Dan Hunter from Brae, Daniel Puskas from Sixpenny and Daniel Wilson from Yakimono.
Sink your teeth into fried chicken and waffles with togarashi maple syrup, wagyu patty melt on sourdough, crumbed fish burger, crinkle-cut disco fries and more.
Pair it with a variety of cocktails and non-alcs curated by Dan Docherty from Commis in Collingwood, as well as some locally sourced wine, beers and spirits. You’ll find plenty of familiar names on the menu, including Zonzo Estate, Payten & Jones, Four Pillars and more. For fun cocktails, you can go wrong with The Dan Murphizz or the Danhattan.
Dan’s Diner will be open for lunch, dinner and drinks, from 12pm to 8pm, each day of the festival. On Saturday March 23 and Sunday March 24, guests can also test their strength by swinging a mallet to ring the bell. This will unlock some exclusive Dan Murphy’s merchandise.
