After originally being set to run at Pennyroyal Plains in Murroon, not too far from Birregurra, this major festival is relocating to Melbourne. Falls Festival will now play at Sidney Myer Music Bowl and the surrounding areas, with the exact same dates and the same line-up. Ring in the New Year in style at two of their stages. Then, meditate, loosen up and relax at Rancho Relaxo. Enjoy drinks from multiple bars and keep your energy up with treats from the food trucks. Indulge further with a VIP experience at Club Falls, which includes a private cocktail bar, shaded lounge areas, fancy toilets and more. Falls Festival will kick off on December 29 and end on December 31.
Why is Falls Festival relocating?
In a statement from festival organisers, Colac Shire Otway Council approved the planning permit for Falls to be held in Birregurra. However, an application was made to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) by a small group of locals for an appeal. A hearing date was set for February/March next year, long after the event was meant to take place. As a result, Falls Festival has moved to Melbourne.
What happens now?
Tickets for the previous Birregurra location will be valid for this new inner-city location. Meanwhile, if you purchased a camping ticket, this will automatically be refunded from Thursday September 29. You will receive an email from Moshtix once the refund has gone through. If you’re not able to attend the new Melbourne venue, you can apply for a refund from 12pm on Tuesday September 13, until 5pm on Thursday October 13.
Tickets for Falls Downtown Melbourne will go on sale on Wednesday September 14 at 9am.
