Blacklight starring Liam Neeson will be the latest movie shot in Melbourne.
With news that Liam Neeson has landed in Melbourne to commence filming of the $43 million action thriller that producers say is ”about a troubled off-the-books fixer for the FBI tasked with pulling undercover agents out of dangerous situations”, we take a look back at some of our favourite movies from the past twenty years filmed on location in our city and surrounds. But just before we do, the writer, director and producer of Blacklight, Mark Williams has said that the reason for choosing Australia, and Melbourne particularly, was that he felt much more comfortable walking around and seeing people with masks on.
Who would’ve thought that wearing masks would help in securing 500 local jobs for cast and crew plus 550 roles for extras? Regardless, good on you Melbourne.
