Celebrate winter with the finest wines in the Yarra Valley region.
Melburnians, with restrictions eased, you can now head out of the city and into regional Victoria. So why don’t you step into the Yarra Valley and embrace the frosty winter weather? Take part in Fireside and feast on delicious food and drink the best wines against the backdrop of the stunning Yarra Valley.
Fireside Yarra Valley 2021
Fireside was originally meant to take place across 16 days in winter, from Saturday July 17 to Sunday August 1. However, due to lockdown across the state, this festival has been reshuffled and the last event will take place on Sunday August 8.
Choose from a variety of ticketed events that celebrate food and wine in the Yarra Valley. Keep warm by the open fire and indulge in a feast at different wineries.
Kellybrook Winery, for example, will pair their wines with French cuisine over two savoury courses, sweet treats and cheeses.
Meanwhile, Handpicked Wines and Jayden Ong Wines will combine forces and pair their wines with seasonal foods straight from the hibachi grill. After that, dig into a succulent feast of slow-cooked lamb over charcoal, with house-made flatbread, sides and condiments.
If you’re more of a morning person, why don’t you indulge in a boozy brunch at Domaine Chandon? After arriving in the vineyard, you’ll receive a smoky cocktail to warm up. Then, over a four course meal, you’ll indulge in a glass of sparkling.
For something cooked low and slow, head to Medhurst Wines. Toast your marshmallows by the fire then enjoy a three course meal. This includes grilled quail and shiraz braised beef short rib.
