After a sold-out season last year, a wonderfully cosy French foodie experience is returning to Melbourne. Escape to the French Alps and warm up with cheese fondue or raclette in your own private chalet. Fondue Chalet will run at Fed Square from Thursday, May 14 to Sunday, June 28. Bookings are available now.
Fondue Chalet
When you arrive at this alpine village, you’ll receive some mulled wine to warm you up. Your French guide will lead you to a private timber chalet, where you’ll graze on a generous charcuterie board, inspired by the flavours of the French mountain.

Then, choose to have either fondue or raclette. With fondue, you’ll dip bread and charcuterie into a bubbling pot of melted cheese. You’ll find an indulgent blend of Comté, Beaufort, Emmental de Savoie and Raclette de Savoie. Meanwhile, with raclette, you’ll melt cheese on a grill, and scrape it onto potatoes, pickles and cured meat. The cheese here is Raclette de Savoie IGP, which is salty and creamy with delicate hazelnut notes.
If you’d like another drink to pair with your meal, each chalet has a fridge stocked with a curated range of French Alpine wines.

After your leisurely meal, head outside to the outdoor fire pits, and end on a sweet note with roasted marshmallows and fresh fruit.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, take things to the next level and try the optional chocolate fondue experience, where you’ll dip fruit into a pot of melted chocolate.
The chalet fits two to eight guests, so you can enjoy this experience with your friends and family.
