A wonderfully cosy French foodie experience is coming to Fed Square. Escape to the French Alps and warm up with cheese fondue and mulled wine in your own private chalet. Brought to you by the same team behind Raclette Igloo, this immersive winter experience will transform Fed Square into an alpine village. Fondue Chalet will run for just six weeks, from Thursday May 15 to Sunday June 22.
Fondue Chalet
When you arrive at this pop-up experience, you’ll be greeted with some mulled wine to warm you up. Your fondue guide will lead you into one of 18 private chalets, and serve you a bubbling pot of traditional cheese fondue from Savoie. The cheese is imported from France, the recipe was made in collaboration with French cheesemongers, and even the staff is French, so if you need any help, you’ll be in good hands.
The fondue is made from an indulgent blend of Comté, Beaufort, Emmental, and Vacherin, melted with a bit of white wine, kirsch and spices. Soak up the cheese with some crunchy bread, and enjoy a delectable charcuterie board while you’re there. A selection of à la carte French wines will also be available.
Each chalet also comes with its own firepit, so you can end things on a sweet note by roasting some marshmallows.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, there are also a limited number of sessions that feature both cheese and chocolate fondue. After enjoying the cheese, dip seasonal fruits and other sweet treats into the Belgian chocolate fondue.
After spending time in the chalet, keep the party going by heading to the Ski Bar. There, you’ll find a selection of French winter cocktails, French wines and hot drinks. Linger by a firepit or on a table, and unwind over a digestif.
