Looking to keep cool this summer? Slide on over to Funfields Themepark in Whittlesea. Over the summer holidays, they launched an exciting new hybrid waterslide that will get your heart racing. Dubbed Supanova, this waterslide is 250m long and 9 storeys high. It features thrilling elements such as an 18m funnel, a flying saucer, and translucent-coloured rings that will create the sensation of a faster ride. Are you ready to go on this intergalactic adventure?

Drive 40km north of Melbourne for a fun day out. Head straight to the Supanova waterslide for an exhilirating experience. Supanova spent 18 months in development, and took six months to build. The ride was inspired by supernovas, and what you might experience in the moments before a star explodes. Expect a massive build-up of energy, zooming through the coloured rings, then burst into the funnel with bright orange and yellow mirrors to mimic the explosion.
According to Funfields Operations Manager Stephen Philp, this ride is so technologically advanced that “it gives the feeling of actual weightlessness with zero g-force”. The ride is suitable for two to four people and is a seriously speedy experience.
When you’re done with Supanova, explore the rest of the 40-acre space for more thrills. Check out Typhoon, the world’s longest ProSlide Cannonbowl, Kraken Race, the longest racing slide of its kind, the Gravity Wave waterslide and the heated wave pool. When you’re not in the water, have fun with carousels, mini golf and more.
