Mr West Bar & Bottle Shop is throwing a fun party in the western suburbs of Melbourne, and you’re invited. In this inaugural, open-air experience, Footscray’s Nicholson Street Mall will be transformed into Good Fest – A Westside Block Party. Feast on yummy local food, drink good booze and groove to some killer tunes. This is shaping up to be a melting pot of culture, connection and community, and it’s completely free to attend. Join in the fun at Good Fest – A Westside Block Party on Saturday January 22.
Good Fest – A Westside Block Party
You’ll listen to genres like Afrobeat, neo-soul, electronic, funk and house at this block party. Artists on the line-up include:
- Ausecuma Beats – shake and shimmy to this nine-piece ensemble of Afrobeat and dance.
- Elaura – be captivated by Elaura’s empowering songs about love and self-awareness. Her music is influenced by jazz, soul and RnB.
- Amin Payne – this producer and DJ will take you on a journey with his distinctive take on house music.
- DJ Petra – expect funky jams and energetic beats that will have you moving your feet.
Eat, drink and be merry
Gracing the Westside Block Party is the local cult-favourite, Pie Thief. A champion of Footscray’s food scene, this phenomenon was born from Aaron Donato of Bar Josephine, and Chef Scott Blomfield from Supernormal. Together, they love a good pie, and they’re bringing their buttery, dreamy pies to Good Fest.
Joining in on the fun is Dingo Ate My Taco. Paul Walcutt, a criminal defence attorney turned taco expert moved to Melbourne in 2019, and has been sharing his love of tacos with Melbourne ever since. His taco food truck/pop-up combines Texas BBQ techniques with fresh and delicious Mexican flavours.
Mr West Bar & Bottle Shop will also team up with Homegrown to create an outdoor cantina bar. There will be cocktails made from Australian spirits and native ingredients, as well as a selection of craft beers and wines.
