This high tea will give you sea legs.
The Westin Melbourne is bringing back their very special high tea collab, High Seas, with Four Pillar’s Gin and, obviously, we’re excited because we love seafood and we love gin. And putting them together is a match made in heaven. (Featured image: The Westin Melbourne)
This year’s High Seas menu charts another course compared to last year’s voyage. However, like 2020, it is heavy on the savoury offerings with just one sweet treat to end the experience. Not that we’re complaining because just one of the black forest ice cream sandwiches infused with Bloody Shiraz Gin is enough to send us overboard.
To get to the sweet treat, though, you will need to work your way through a gin salt and vinegar potato crisps served with crème fraiche and Yarra Valley Bloody Shiraz Gin caviar, native oysters with finger lime and Rare Dry Gin and nori scones with whipped yuzu butter. You’ll also get to dig into Four Pillars curry botanical scallop pot pies, a Hiramasa kingfish scotch egg with Four Pillars orange marmalade and a Port Phillip Bay snapper ceviche with pepper berry.
This journey of mouthwatering proportions, however, begins with a Four Pillars cocktail because, let’s face it, there’s nothing quite like a tipple to kick off a celebration. (Or, a voyage on the High Seas.)
The High Seas ($89) high tea at The Westin Melbourne sets sail from February 5 and will continue through until Sunday, April 4 from 11am onwards in the Lobby Lounge.
If you can’t drop your anchor at The Westin Melbourne but are still keen on setting sail on the seven seas, then you’re in luck because Providoor is delivering hampers straight to your port—sensational seafood, drinks, and stand ($98).
Bookings are essential and need to be made with 24 hours notice. To make a reservation, contact The Westin Melbourne on 9635 2222, email lobby.melbourne@westin.com or book online.
