We love taking in the view from Melbourne’s many rooftop bars, and while the iconic Madame Brussels has closed, another exciting venue will soon take its place. Feel transported to 1980s Tokyo at a new izakaya-inspired rooftop venue by MAMAS Dining Group, the same hospitality team behind other notable venues like Hochi Mama and Suzie Q. This restaurant, which has yet to be named, is set to open this October.

Wander up to Level 3 and discover a transformed venue that seats up to 150 people. Order a drink from the extensive sake list, or sip on Japanese-inspired cocktails or a selection of popular craft beers. Take in views of the twinkling city lights, while listening to disco and hip-hop on vinyl.
Bask in the moody lighting as you tuck into a sharing style menu. Think sushi and chargrilled izakaya-style dishes from Japanese chefs.

“We’re so excited to open our 7th venue in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, a huge milestone to mark MAMAS 10 years of operation in Australia’s most renowned city for hospitality,” said Thai Ho, CEO and Director of MAMAS Dining Group. “Moreover, to open in one of the city’s most iconic locations is such a fantastic opportunity, and we can’t wait to bring the soul of Shibuya nights and the heart of Harajuku days to Melbourne’s CBD.”
While details are scarce at the moment, you’ll find this venue at Level 3 on 59-63 Bourke Street. Keep an eye out for updates here.
