After a sell-out season, the gorgeous, after-dark experience, Lightscape, is coming back to the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. Wander through the green heart of Melbourne with a new trail that stretches just over two kilometres. As you journey along the path, you’ll discover shimmering lights, large-scale sculptures and more. Lightscape will illuminate Melbourne during the winter nights, from June 16 to August 6, 2023.
Lightscape
After dazzling visitors in the UK and US, Lightscape made its debut in Melbourne in winter earlier this year. With its colourful installations and glowing tunnels, it quickly became one of the must-do events of the season.
“Lightscape was an overwhelming success earlier this year and we are delighted that this world-class event is returning to Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne so that Victorians can again enjoy our Gardens in a whole new light,” said Professor Tim Entwisle, Director and Chief Executive, Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria.
In 2023, get ready to lose yourself in a garden paradise, filled with over 100, 000 tiny lights. Along the trail, you’ll immerse yourself in light, colour, reflection and music. Discover lakeside reflections, colour-changing installations and plenty of new surprises. The breath-taking Winter Cathedral will return, along with some never-before-seen artworks.
The popular welcome zone, filled with food trucks and pop-up bars, will also return.
Tickets will go on sale at 10am, on Friday December 9.
