Add a bit of flavour to your life and check out the annual Meeniyan Garlic Festival in Gippsland. This festival celebrates the high-quality garlic and produce from the region, with plenty of food, wine, music arts and crafts. The festival will take place on Saturday February 18.
Meeniyan Garlic Festival
Expect over two tonnes of garlic and a showcase of 15 garlic growers at this flavoursome festival. Pop into the Festival Kitchen and see the chefs in action on the Festival Stage, with notable names like Alejandro Saravia of Farmer’s Daughters. Then, check out the Garlic Institute and learn the secrets of garlic-growing success. Chat with the growers, try their produce and buy some garlic to take home.
At the festival, you’ll find plenty of food stalls, as well as produce, crafts and homewares. The Gippsland Wine Academy will be there too, offering guided tasting flights, wine-matching and expert advice.
There’s also plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained, including push billy carts, rock climbing, mini golf and garlic and spoon races. While you eat and learn from the growers, listen and enjoy live music on the stage.
