El Jannah’s first Melbourne store will be a drive-thru.
El Jannah, the iconic Sydney-based charcoal chicken joint that first opened its doors way back in the ’98, continues to grow in size and following. After opening its first drive-thru last year—-and ninth store in January—-it’s now Melbourne’s turn to get a taste.
First and foremost, the chain is known for its Lebanese-style charcoal chicken. You can get in wholes, halves, and quarters, on a plate served with chips and their to-die-for garlic sauce, or in a meal just for yourself.
But that’s not all El Jannah does. They also do rolls, burgers, platters which can be loaded up with other Middle-Eastern specialties like Kafta, Tawouk, Lahme and Soujouk. They’ve got skewers too and salads to please, and their freshly-made falafel is top-notch.
We’re also hoping that El Jannah’s recent venture into fried chicken will also be available for poultry lovers to pick up and drive away with because variety is the spice of life. Really, in any which way you decide to eat El Jannah, you’ll soon be thinking of when you can get some more.
Speaking to Broadsheet, El Jannah has confirmed that its first Melbourne store will be located at 600 High Street in Preston, the former Hungry Jack’s site, and is slated to open later this year. If things go to plan, a second Melbourne store is also on the cards.
