
The electrifying, after-hours event, Nocturnal, is coming back to Melbourne Museum. In this late-night series, you’ll enjoy two levels of exhibitions around the museum, as well as a stack of themed talks, tours, music, food and entertainment. Nocturnal will take over Melbourne Museum once a month on Thursday nights, with the next events taking place February 13, March 6 and April 10.
Nocturnal at Melbourne Museum
Gather your mates for a night of music, food, drinks and entertainment. Inside the museum foyer, you’ll be welcomed with tunes from some of Melbourne’s favourite DJs. As you dance the night away, keep your energy up with delicious bites and specialty cocktails. Explore the different exhibitions, and have plenty of fun with themed activities, expert talks and tours.
Heart to Heart – Chemistry of Connection
When: Thursday February 13, 6-9pm
Celebrate love in all its forms the night before Valentine’s Day. Meet like-minded people at a speed dating event, have fun with a mini silent disco and enjoy a DJ set from PBS’ Claire Dickson from Good Company. There will also be plenty of talks, tours and demonstrations about the physics of attraction, animal mating rituals and more.

Subterranea – Hidden Worlds Beneath Our Feet
When: Thursday March 6, 6-9pm
Venture beyond the world you know, and explore tunnels, burrows, caves and more mysterious networks below the surface. Learn about subterranean cave systems and the prehistoric megafauna preserved within, and find out more about Melbourne’s historic cess pits, sewers and underworld figures. Play dino-inspired drag bingo, enjoy a DJ set from DJ Mothafunk, and grab a discounted ticket in your last chance to see the Antopia exhibition.

Cracked Up – Laughter, Tales & the Comedy of Life
When: Thursday April 10, 6-9pm
Melbourne Museum is collaborating with Melbourne International Comedy Festival to bring you a night of laughter. Enjoy museum trivia hosted by Tom Noble, see improvised performances from Rose Callahan, Hanna Camilleri and more, and enjoy a DJ set from DJ Gay Dad. You’ll also learn about decades of hilarious donation requests and unhinged public enquires from the Museum archives.
