Stargazing is a wonderfully romantic activity. The twinkling lights are beautiful to behold, and it certainly feels miraculous, knowing that in the vastness of the universe, you somehow found this one special person to share the moment with. On Valentine’s Day, head to the Melbourne Planetarium at Scienceworks, and take part in their Space Age themed, adults-only event. Marvel at the cosmos, sip on themed cocktails and more. It’s all happening on Tuesday February 14, with doors opening at 6pm.
Valentine’s Day at Melbourne Planetarium
Head to the Planetarium with your loved one, and enjoy a delightful 45-minute session. As you gaze at the universe, you’ll hear the tales of ancient celestial love stories, written in the stars. You’ll feel completely immersed, with a 16m domed ceiling, full-dome video projection and 7.1 surround sound system. There’s three sessions available during the night, with times at 6:30pm, 8pm and 9:30pm.
Before or after your show, get into the mood with love-themed cocktails and outdoor stargazing with telescopes. Take part in heart-racing Sportsworks activities, and check out roving performers, The Biscuit Readers. Find a bit of romance with wordsmith, Charlotte Raven, who will help you write a heartfelt letter to your partner, or capture your relationship in a beautiful poem.
On the night, there will also be a photobooth, so you take home a fun memento.
Food and drink will be available for purchase. This event is 18+.
