A new kind of winery is coming to Melbourne that will swap rolling vineyards with a more urban experience. Sip on wine, enjoy a wine-led dining experience, explore rotating art exhibitions and more at Melbourne Winery. You’ll find this 552.5 square metre space on Flinders Lane. It’s set to open at the end of this month, so you won’t have to wait too long to check it out.
Melbourne Winery
Engage with wine in a new kind of way at Melbourne Winery. Created by hospitality professionals, this imaginative new space combines the craft of wine with the buzzing culture of Melbourne. Of course, wine is the main character of the show, with 32 varietals to start off with. These wines will be split into three sections: Essentials, Elevated Classics and Indulgence. Each bottle will also feature a photographic label with its own story, so you can choose a wine that resonates with you.
“Wine, food, and art share a purpose — to evoke emotion and bring people together,” said a Melbourne Winery spokesperson. “Just like art, wine is subjective, everyone experiences it slightly differently. The way you experience wine is completely unique to you, and this space gives you the freedom to discover that.”
Take part in experiences, such as blending sessions, grape stomping, guided tastings and sensory workshops. There’s also a dining experience, where each dish on the menu is designed to support what’s in the glass. You’ll also find a cheese room, an oyster bar and private dining rooms. Look out for rotating art exhibitions and large-scale photographic installations while you’re there.
