Love cats? There’s a gallery in the Macedon Ranges that’s giving one local feline the praise and adoration he deserves. Beloved cat, Mildred, who is often seen waiting at the door of The Gallery for pats and photos, is now being celebrated in many artforms, such as paintings and textiles. The Mildred exhibition is now showing at The Gallery in Mount Macedon, and will run until Sunday, May 31.
Mildred at The Gallery in Mount Macedon
Fan favourite Mildred has captured hearts around town by lounging around The Gallery for pats and naps, or hanging out next door at the Dicksonia Rare Plants nursery. So, it is only right that he has now been captured in works of art around the gallery.
Stroll through the exhibition and smile at Mildred in all his magnificent forms, from an undignified scratch on the front porch to a sweet depiction among leaves and flowers. There’s plenty of hanging art for you to admire, such as oil, charcoal and pastel, as well as photos, miniatures, textiles and even jewellery. Yes, Mildred has even had rings and beanies made in his honour.
This purr-fect exhibition was put together by gallery members, a talented group of local creatives.
