You might have fond memories of winning triumphantly at a game of Monopoly. Or, you might remember rage-quitting, and flipping the table in anger. Whether you had some great bonding moments, or heated arguments with your family, this board game is a staple of every household and game night. Get ready to experience Monopoly like never before, with interactive games, immersive sets and more at Monopoly Dreams. This family-friendly space is open daily on the lower ground floor of Melbourne Central.
The Monopoly Dreams attraction is the second in the world, after Hong Kong, and double the size. It’s also Australia’s first immersive Monopoly-themed destination. Modelled after the original in Hong Kong, the space is divided into two sections.
Mr. Monopoly’s Mansion
Ascend an elevator into the penthouse of Monopoly Mansion, and explore the home of the world’s richest man. Find unique tokens inside Mr. Monopoly’s personal gallery, check out his study, and discover a precious diamond located deep inside a vault. While you’re there, why don’t you help Mr. Monopoly test out his security system, and put your reflexes and agility to the test?
Pass Go and take a tour of Monopoly City. Grab as much money from the Bank as you can, and take a mugshot inside a recreation of the iconic Jail. If you’d rather earn some money, help fix the broken pipes at Water Works, or generate energy at the Electric Company. Marvel at Mr. Monopoly’s helicopter, and create your own customised Title Deed. Then, take a Chance and try some interactive games.
Enjoy a multi-sensory experience at the Monopoly 4DX Cinema. Join Mr. Monopoly and his dog Scottie as they go on an adventure around some iconic Melbourne attractions. There will be 3D glasses, of course, as well as motion-enabled chairs, water, wind, fog, scent and more.
Earn Monopoly Money throughout the experience, then redeem your cash at the retail store or café. The themed café will open on Tuesday November 21.
If you’d like to celebrate a special occasion, the theme park also has eight party and games rooms available for bookings.
This immersive experience is suitable for all ages. Tickets are $49.50 for adults and $38.50 for children aged between 3 and 15. Kids 2 and under are free!
