The Adorable Peter Rabbit Has Hopped Into The Myer Christmas Windows This Year

Head over to Bourke Street Mall and take a peek inside Myer’s famous Christmas Windows. This year, return to your favourite childhood story and see Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit come to life across six windows. Discover an abundance of adorable rabbits, cats, mice and of course, the grouchy gardener Mr McGregor. The Myer Christmas Windows will be open from 7:30am to 10:30pm from now until Christmas Eve.

Myer Christmas Windows

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen adorable book characters come to life. In previous years, we’ve been treated to visions of May Gibbs’ Gumnut Babies and Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. And now, for their 66th year, Myer is presenting The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter.

Narrated by comedian Magda Szubanski, you’ll see your favourite characters like Peter, Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail come to life. Both the adorable animated creatures and the English countryside backdrop were painstakingly created by Stage ONE Productions. Even the tiniest leaf or petal was individually drawn and painted by hand.

On top of that, you’ll be able to see Peter Rabbit every weekend until November 28. Peter will run meet-and-greets from 11am to 2pm at Myer Melbourne.

Once you’ve seen the Windows and said hi to Peter, get in the festive spirit and head upstairs to Santaland. There, you’ll hop on the Santaland Express and meet Santa and his elves. Then, explore the Giftorium to find the perfect Christmas present.

When visiting the windows, remember to maintain social distancing to both protect yourselves and those around you.

Meanwhile, visits to Santaland require an online booking and a fitted face mask.
