We love relaxing in a good bathhouse, and there’s a new one coming to Melbourne that you can add to your list. After rejuvenating the people of Byron Bay, the Scandinavian-inspired wellness space, Navia Bathhouse, is coming to Melbourne. Draw upon the Nordic tradition of communal bathing, and drift between Finnish saunas, mineral hot pools, steam rooms and cold plunges. This bathhouse is set to open in Prahran on Saturday, August 15.

Navia Bathhouse
Whether you’re looking for a bit of ‘me-time’, or you’re keen to gather with your friends, you’ll have a tranquil time at Navia Bathhouse. Slow down, and experience a bit of contrast therapy as you make your way through the spaces.
Book yourself in for a one or two hour session in the bathhouse, where you’ll have access to magnesium hot pools, heated up to a toasty 35ºC and 38ºC. Dip into a series of ice plunges, where you’ll feel invigorated by 0ºC, 3ºC, 6ºC and 8ºC pools. Too cold? There’s a steam room, a cedar-lined traditional Finnish sauna and a black silent sauna for you to pop into. After sweating things out, drift over to the lounge space for snacks and refreshments.

For a bit more pampering, treat yourself to a private session in the infrared sauna. Available in 45-minute sessions, you’ll feel warmed up from within in this restorative experience. You can enjoy this by yourself, or share the moment with a friend.
You could also try a bit of red light therapy. Recline on the bed, and feel recharged in just 15 minutes.
Both the infrared sauna and the red light therapy sessions are available as standalone experiences, or in addition to a bathhouse session.
While you’re there, stay a little longer and wander into Fika Café. Inspired by the Swedish tradition of fika, where you slow down for a coffee and a catch-up, you’re invited to linger around for a cosy cup.
When it launches, Navia will be open daily from 6am to 10pm. Keep an eye out for updates via their website and social media.
