Oxi Tea Room
Each item is made in-house by the talented pastry chefs at Oxi Tea Room. The ten items on the menu are inspired by Van Gogh’s paintings, like The Starry Night and Sunflowers. The menu is designed in a way that invites you to look for clues. Follow the recommended eating order and try to figure out which dish matches which painting. As you eat, there is a virtual gallery which you can go through, so that you can learn more about the paintings and Van Gogh himself.
Look forward to a mixture of sweet and savoury bites, like puff pastry with potato, brioche with herbed chicken, macarons and yoghurt mousse with sponge cake.
High tea costs $89 per person, and you can pair it with a tea from their extensive collection. They have a range of over 30 teas, specialising in oolong and black teas. Most of it is from Taiwan and Kenya, but there’s also some varieties from Japan and South Africa. All of the tea is hand-picked, and features unique characteristics. If you’d like to try more than one tea, you can upgrade you package to include bottomless tea for an extra $10 per person.
Meanwhile, if you can’t make it to high tea, but you’d still like to sample an item, there is an à la carte menu serving up some of the high tea treats. You can also try a chef’s selection of sweet or savoury petits fours.
