You’ve seen the fun Penn and Teller on TV. Now, see the magic unfold in real life, when they embark on their first ever Australian tour. The pair are hitting the east coast of Australia, so you can see their record-breaking Las Vegas live show. Penn and Teller will take over Hamer Hall in Arts Centre Melbourne, from Tuesday June 14 to Saturday June 18.
Penn and Teller
The iconic duo celebrated 45 years together in 2020. They started by busking on the streets of Philadelphia, and are now one of the longest-running acts in Las Vegas. They’ve carved out their own niche in comedy, and have redefined the genre of magic. You’ve probably seen them on ABC iView or ABC TV Plus, with their show Penn & Teller: Fool Us!, in which magicians try to fool the discerning pair for a chance to star alongside them on stage.
“I just love Australia,” said Teller. “I learned to scuba dive in Cairns. I’ve eaten gelato at Circular Quay and enjoyed Shakespeare at the Opera House. I’ve scouted an underwater TV special near Melbourne, I’ve been bug-eyed at MONA and some of my dearest friends live there so it’s about bloody time we brought our show down under, don’t you think? It’s once in a lifetime! See you in winter! … What? It’s winter in June??”
Here are the locations and dates for the Penn and Teller Australian tour:
- Sydney Opera House – June 1 to 11
- Arts Centre Melbourne – June 14 to 18
- Queensland Performing Arts Centre – June 22 to July 3
