Pick Your Own Sunflowers is gearing up for another season of sunflower picking. Located over an hour away from Melbourne, these sunflower fields are perfect for a bright and wholesome day trip. Drive out to Dunnstown, not too far from Ballarat, and wander along the golden fields. Soak in the sunlight and take home your own sunflowers at the end of the day. The field will open to the public from Thursday February 22.
Pick Your Own Sunflowers
Swap city views for golden blooms at this iconic sunflower farm. Wander through the fields and get the perfect Instagram shot, with thousands of flowers blooming all around you.
You will need to bring your own secateurs or scissors, as well as a bucket, so that you can pick the flowers and transport them safely home. Sunflowers are $4 a stem, and entry is $10. You can buy tickets online for some sessions, as well as at the gate. It’s best to bring cash as the Wi-Fi is unreliable. Children under 5 are free!
Furry friends are welcome to join you in the paddock as long as they are on a leash. However, keep a look out for any snakes on the ground or bees in the air. Check the weather forecast before you go, and remember to wear suitable shoes. There are no toilets on the farm, so remember to go before you visit.
Once you bring your flowers home, you’ll have a delightful souvenir of your fun in the sun.
