Pick Your Own Sunflowers has opened for another season of sunflower picking. Drive out to Dunnstown, not too far from Ballarat, and wander along the golden fields for a bright and wholesome day trip. Soak in the sunlight and take home your own sunflowers at the end of the day. Sessions are updated weekly, depending on how the blooms look and on the weather.
Pick Your Own Sunflowers
Swap city views for golden blooms at this iconic sunflower farm. Wander through the fields and get the perfect Instagram shot, with plenty of cheerful flowers blooming all around you.
Bring your own secateurs or scissors, as well as a bucket, so that you can pick the sunflowers and transport them safely home. The flowers are $4 a stem, and you can hire secateurs for $5 if you need to.
Furry friends are welcome to join you in the paddock as long as they are on a leash. However, keep a look out for any snakes on the ground or bees in the air. Check the weather forecast before you go, and remember to wear suitable shoes. It’s best to use the bathroom before you arrive, as toilets might not be available on the farm.
Once you bring your flowers home, you’ll have a delightful souvenir of your fun in the sun.
Tickets for this event are $10, and children under 5 can come along for free. You can book your tickets online or purchase them at the gate. It’s best to bring cash as the Wi-Fi is unreliable.
This event relies entirely on nature, so keep an eye on their website or on social media for the latest updates.
