Dive below the depths and lose yourself in a multi-sensory digital exhibition at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium. The experience, Submerged, is the aquarium’s first venture into the evolving art form. You’ll go on a journey through living light inspired by the beauty and wonder of the bioluminescent underwater world. Submerged is now open, and will stay at the aquarium until December this year.
Submerged at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium
This large-scale exhibition will take you on a fascinating adventure, from a glittering shoreline in the midst of spawning season, down into the bioluminescent unknown. Discover majestic underwater creatures, like the shimmering firefly squid.
“As one of Melbourne’s top tourist attractions, we are excited to be diving into new depths with the launch of Submerged,” said Claire Burrell, General Manager of SEA LIFE Melbourne. “The digital experience will captivate guests with its vibrance and hyperrealism, providing them with an alternative but no less engaging ocean experience while our Oceanarium is upgraded.”
The experience is suitable for all ages, and will stick around until December 2023. Meanwhile, the 2.2 million Oceanarium display will go through renovations. During this time, some animals, like the larger sharks and rays, will not be visible to visitors.
Thankfully, there will still be thousands of delightful marine and freshwater creatures for you to discover. Admire the adorable sub-Antarctic penguins, meet Pinjarra the saltwater crocodile, see turtles, jellyfish, Port Jackson sharks and more.
Submerged will be included in the price of admission, which is $47 for adults, $32 for children, and free for those under 3.
